The giant cloud of ash rising from Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano has caused all sorts of havoc across Europe, but it's now threatening America's national treasure. The woman who can singlehandedly effect Stolichnaya's stock price, Lindsay Lohan, is stuck at the Cannes Film Festival and might not make it back for her court date!
Poor little Lindsay is over in France at the Cannes Film Festival promoting, umm ... well ... I'm not sure what (is she the most publicized unemployed person on the face of the planet?), but if she doesn't get back to the USA by May 20, she could end up in jail for missing her probation hearing.
As you know, LaLohan, after getting a DUI, was ordered by the court to attend 13 alcohol education classes at 7 day intervals (I know, what doesn't Lohan know about alcohol? She should have a PhD in alcohol by now, HAHA). However, according to TMZ, the actress has only attended 10 of the classes, even though an official at the alcohol education program claims she is in full compliance.
Because Lohan has not been in compliance with the terms of her probation, the prosecutor in the case wants her put in jail if she misses the court appearance.
Even worse, not only is the ash cloud over Iceland impacting flights back from France, Lohan might have had her passport STOLEN while in Cannes!
What's going to happen? Will a miracle save Lohan, get her on a plane and put her in the courtroom on Thursday morning? If she's still in France, will she be arrested upon return to the US?
At this point, I think Lindsay needs to adopt the Roman Polanski strategy and remain in Europe as a fugitive from justice! He was able to work and live overseas for over 20 years, and won an Oscar, before he finally was caught. Lindsay's career could use that kind of boost, and they have awesome clubs in Paris.
