Michael Douglas Has a Tumor

|
michaeldouglasphoto.jpgOne of the great voices in Hollywood history could be silenced as legendary actor Michael Douglas battles a tumor found in his throat.

According to PopEater, Douglas has been instructed to undergo an aggressive treatment featuring radiation and chemotherapy for 8 weeks to combat the tumor, which normally is indicative of a cancerous growth.

Sadly, this treatment, while crucial to stopping the possible spread of cancer, likely is to leave him with a gravelly, hoarser voice, or none at all.

Admit it, you have tried to imitate Gordon Gekko saying, "Greed, for lack of a better word, is Good," to realize he has a voice that sounds like well aged, 50-year old scotch, and you don't, so that loss is bad enough, but this news could not come at a worse time.

Douglas has been on a career upswing lately.  He gave a fantastic, if little seen, performance in this year's Solitary Man, and his return to Gordon Gekko in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, the sequel to Wall Street, has movie lovers and insiders buzzing about another Oscar.

Plus, I can't wait to see what he does in the Liberace biopic!!!!!

Let's hope for the best.
