May whatever deity you believe in keep me safe and sound until I see the greatest movie ever made! Yes, Martin Scorsese is trying to make the Italian-American version of The Expendables.
According to Deadline Hollywood, the best source for insider news anywhere, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci are interested in joining Martin Scorsese's latest venture with Robert De Niro, The Irishman.

The movie, based on the book I Heard You Paint Houses about former mob tough guy Frank Sheeran (known as The Irishman), details his relationship with Jimmy Hoffa, and his confession to being the man who murdered the long lost union leader.
With De Niro, Scorsese, Pacino, Pesci and The Mob, you can understand why I am drooling at the prospect. My friend, Greg, let me borrow the book a few years ago, and it's one amazing tale (we both grew up in the area Sheeran used to operate in). I might even finish the book in anticipation of the greatest movie of my life.
This could be the perfect meeting of material and artists. De Niro is in line to play Sheeran, and I have to think Pesci would be interested in playing Hoffa. Even if Pacino plays Hoffa, it will be mindblowing.
These guys know the stories, the attitudes, the motives, the tone and the people who live this kind of life. Scorsese will help Pacino and De Niro overcome all of the pitfalls of their last collaboration (Righteous Kill), and they can help bring Scorsese's vision to the screen because they get it and have the same vision.
I can't wait!!!!!!
