One of my favorite DJ's is back on the scene with a new album and new tour. Find out more details after the jump!
In support of his new debut studio album 'Wonderland', due out January 17, 2012, via New York-based Ultra Music in conjunction with his own label Dim Mak Records, DJ/producer and electronic dance music entrepreneur Steve Aoki is launching his biggest tour ever: DEADMEAT, presented by Dim Mak, coming to Washington, D.C. Saturday, February 11 at Fillmore Silver Spring. If you are in the DC area and DON'T see this show, then you are definitely going to miss out!
For the Deadmeat Tour, Aoki has partnered up with dubstep's hottest new producer and Dim Mak label mate Datsik. The Deadmeat Tour will showcase the debut of new live visual productions from both Aoki and Datsik alongside an all-star supporting lineup of some of the most sought-after, up-and-coming producers in electronic music today. Aoki is a true pioneer in his field and was spinning many of the popular sounds that you hear today, years ago. This is a tour you don't want to miss!
Aoki is well known for his smash hit collaborations like 'No Beef' with Afrojack and other various artists that span across genres. Aoki has teamed up with an all star team of guest artists for Wonderland, including Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Travis Barker, LMFAO, NERVO, Kid Cudi and more. AOKI's current single, "Earthquakey People" featuring Cuomo on vocals, is out now and resonating big time with rock, pop and dance fans, shooting straight to the upper echelons of Beatport's electro house charts as soon as it was released in October 2011 and further expanding by its remix package featuring reworked versions by Andrew W.K., Dillon Francis, Alvin Risk and Loops of Fury released earlier this November. AOKI's own big room house remix of the track, entitled "Earthquakey People (The Sequel)," is also available now exclusively via Beatport.
