Smallville Season 5 - The Best Yet?

Chlark
Get ready! Smallville Season 5 will be available on DVD on Tuesday, September 12. This collection will include exciting extras such as the making of the 100th episode, a Vengeance Chronicles Webisode Gallery and deleted scenes!

Some critics and fans assert that this past season was the best yet. Viewers experienced the Clana some always wished for... only to have it taken away when Clark had to face the consequences of the deal he made with Jor-El. Jonathan Kent said good-bye, but the possibility of Chlark said hello in the season finale... We also met Aquaman, who developed an interest in Lois - which Clark wasn't too happy about for some reason...

And then there's Lexana. Is Lex just Lana's rebound guy? Or is it true love? Well, we have much more pressing matters at hand: Will Clark escape from the Phantom Zone? Will Martha and Lois survive their plane trip? Who will stop Brainiac? Will Clark owe Jor-El again? And will Clark and Lex become permanent enemies?

Was Season 5 your favorite season? Which episode do you pick as the best? Spoilers aside, what do you think will really happen in Season 6? Chlark? Clois? Chimmy?

Remembering Top Model's Finest Moments

Hanging upside-down with fish hanging off their bodies? Check. Sporting jeweled, live cockroaches as a new-fangled accessory? Check. Cramming into a British phone booth, naked? Check.

Yes, America's Next Top Model has been host to dozens of memorably unpleasant scenes. Some we'd forgotten about until we saw this video, but others, like that cockroach debacle, are too wacky to forget.

Want to relive past seasons with Tyra and the girls? CW stars Jared Padalecki and Tracee Ellis Ross introduce video clips of some of Top Model's most memorable moments.

Tyra: "We Keep It Real"

Check out new video of Tyra Banks talking about ANTM's success. Unlike other reality shows, which last a season or two, ANTM is beginning its seventh season. Why's that? According to Tyra, it's because the Top Model staff tries to top itself each round -- and because they keep it real.

Let's discuss. Which was the best season of ANTM in your opinion? And what'll the girls have to do this year to make it the best season yet?

Supernatural Star Watch: JDM

Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Supernatural fans everywhere have declared their allegiances to either Jared or Jensen - or both. But what about Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays beloved father John Winchester? There aren't enough fans in the world to cool down the flames in our hearts for this fiiiine man. Sigh.

We want to see more of him, even though it seems like he's already everywhere these days! We ached when his Denny died in the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. He's also been featured in the critically acclaimed series Weeds, The O.C., CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and JAG. To read about how he's handling his new hot commodity status, check out this item on Zap2it.com.

Do you love JDM as much as we do? Do you hope John survives the car crash? Or is it J&J all the way?

The CW Star of the Week

Tracee
Name: Tracee Ellis Ross

Where you can catch her: On Girlfriends, season premiere Sunday, October 1 at 8/7c

Where else you can see her in action: Hanging Up, Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls in '07

Why we heart her: How can you not love this Renaissance woman? In addition to her current gig, the Brown University grad also has modeled and served as a contributing editor for Mirabella and New York magazines.

Did you know? She's the daughter of the legendary Diana Ross. Well, you probably knew that. But it's always nice to see next of kin make names for themselves as well.

Evolution of the Kim Family

We didn't know that Lane's character is based on Amy Sherman-Palladino's real-life best friend, Helen Pai. Asia Pacific Arts profiles the evolution of the Kim family and talks about how great it is that Asian-Americans can see themselves represented in a TV family. They've got great quotes from Keiko Agena (Lane) and Emily Kuroda (Mrs. Kim). They also address the mysterious absence of Mr. Kim -- where is that man, anyway?

ANTM's Nigel Stops By

Nigel Barker of America's Next Top Model stopped by WPIX's studios recently. Check out pics of the famed fashion photog's visit!

If You Ran the Emmys

Jared Padalecki
Dear Academy of Television Arts & Sciences,

Well, here we are. Another television season is now behind us, another awards ceremony celebrating its best shows and stars is around the corner. But you still continue to disappoint. How can you live with yourself after snubbing Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls AGAIN?! Why are you always honoring the same shows year after year, even though you supposedly instituted a new voting system this time around?

However, we do appreciate your recognition of programs such as Supernatural, Smallville and Everybody Hates Chris (see full list of primetime nominees here). Hopefully in the future you will give these and other fan favorites the full attention they deserve.

Yours truly,

The CW Source

Are you going to watch this Sunday's Emmy Awards? If you ran the Emmys, who would you pick as Best Actor, Actress, or Outstanding Series?

Chad Turns the Big 2-5

Today is Chad Michael Murray's 25th birthday, and he's already done a lot for his 25 years. Let's take a moment to recall Chad's many accomplishments:

Professional: He's graced the small screen in a trifecta of charmer roles -- first as Tristan on Gilmore Girls, then as elusive Charlie on Dawson's Creek, and finally in the role we know best -- Lucas, One Tree Hill's conflicted thinker.

On the movie front, Chad's starred in Freaky Friday, A Cinderella Story, and House of Wax (opposite tabloid queens Lindsay Lohan, Hilarie Duff, and Paris Hilton, respectively). We blogged about his latest project, Home of the Brave, which seems to be a step in a more serious direction...

Personal: It's no secret that Chad's personal life has been all over the 'net and gossip columns over the past year. His whirlwind marriage to OTH co-star Sophia Bush dissolved in '05, but he wasted no time finding a new woman in eighteen-year-old Kenzie Dalton, his latest fiancé.

Outlook: Chad's next year is looking good -- he has a new film in the works and a new bride-to-be by his side. What will the next year bring for Chad? Send birthday wishes his way!

Allison Mack Finally Feels the Love!

Allison Mack of Smallville
On Sunday Smallville star Allison Mack won Choice TV Sidekick honors at the Teen Choice Awards. This week she gets the super celeb treatment on TVGuide.com. Check out the interview here, where she reveals what's in store for her character this season, what it's like working with the other ladies of Smallville and much more. She even addresses the Chlois theory, which has been a hot and divisive topic of debate amongst fans all summer.

Are you a Chloe fan? Do you believe Chloe is the "real" Lois? And with Jimmy Olsen entering the picture soon, is there still any hope for Chlark?

Quote of the Day: Supernatural Snark

Classic Supernatural snark right here:

I hope your apple pie is freaking worth it! -- Dean

Supernatural fans voted this one as the top quote from "Scarecrow." Remember that one? Maybe these pics will trigger your memory. Burkitsville, Indiana seems as wholesome and American as the aforementioned apple pie, but of course, there's danger lurking beneath the surface...

Of course, this is just one of many perfectly-delivered lines from those Winchesters. Which were your favorite Supernatural quotes from last season?

O.C. Creator in Negotiations at CW for "Gossip Girl" Series

O.C. creator Josh Schwartz is in talks with the CW about creating a new TV series. The show would be based on the serialized novels "Gossip Girl."

Not familiar with the books? In a nutshell, they're quick reads about the rich and popular teens of Manhattan's most elite 'hoods and schools -- kind of like The O.C. gone Park Avenue. Can Schwartz do for the East Coast prep squad what he's already done for California's ritziest county? We're excited to find out...

CW Style File: OTH's It Girl Goes Grandma?

We loved Sophia's look at the Teen Choice Awards... but the girls at Go Fug Yourself have a different opinion. They love the top half of her ensemble, but they're begging her to show a bit of leg next time she goes out. Sounds like Sophia got fugged out of love, though -- the usually tough critics at GFY say she's got style to spare (and gorgeous hair to boot).

After all, she's proven her glam style works at so many other events -- this glam number at the House of Wax premiere, a sexy black cocktail dress at the Glory Road premiere, even this flirty frock at the Cinderella Story premiere. We can't imagine she'll make another fashion misstep anytime soon.

So did Sophia deserve to be fugged for the Teen Choice Awards dress? You make the call.

Duff Sisters Can't Get Enough -- Of Each Other

The DuffsDo these sisters ever spend time apart? Not only do they regularly hit red-carpet events together, but the Duff sisters (Hilarie and Haylie, for those who don't follow their every move) spill in this video that they share a house in LA and rarely fight. Check out the video and see what you think.

So far Haylie hasn't brought Hilarie on to guest-star on 7th Heaven... but there's always next season (we can see it now -- Hilarie shows up as Ruthie's new friend, seeking advice from Reverend Camden on her sinful ways!)

They're a tight twosome, that's for sure. We have to ask -- are any real sisters as close as the Duff sisters? And will you be going to see this movie, or are you not a fan of the Duff duo?

Episode Flashback: When Gilmores Attack

Fans who were frustrated with the new turns GG's Season Six took (drama overload, surprise daughters, feuding Gilmores) found some solace in "Friday Night's Alright for Fighting," an old-school episode where the Gilmores just plain had it out over dinner.

Just think of all the issues that come to the table:

*Emily and Richard didn't believe Lorelai about the Huntzbergers' rudeness until they saw it firsthand at the DAR party.

*Rory's suddenly letting Christopher pay for college instead of Emily and Richard (but she hasn't TOLD Emily and Richard yet).

*Lorelai's dealing with a shaky engagement, a postponed wedding, and a distant fiancé. And now a crazy family dinner.

*Emily and Richard still have some underlying issues about Rory staying with them while she took time off from Yale.

It's the first time these four have faced off in one room in quite some time, and, paired with some fancy-schmancy camera work, it makes for some darn good television -- one of the more memorable Friday night dinners, we think.

Relive the drama: read a recap, see pics from the emotionally-charged evening, and tell us -- was this the most memorable Friday night dinner ever? Or were there others from past seasons that make your list?

The CW Star of the Week

Tom
Name: Tom Welling

Where you can catch him: On Smallville, season premiere Thursday, September 28 at 8/7c

Where else you've seem him: Judging Amy (Season 2), Undeclared, The Fog, Cheaper by the Dozen 1 & 2

Why we heart him: Those blue eyes! That hot bod! And he can act his socks off too. But can he convincingly complete Clark Kent's journey from boy to man this upcoming season? We shall see...

Did you know? Tommy was a goalkeeper for his high school soccer team and apparently was quite good. But what isn't he great at?

CW Stars at the Teen Choice Awards

Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill), Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris), Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) and Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) were among the CW stars who made an appearance at last night's Teen Choice Awards.

And the results? It was a great night for Gilmore Girls: Alexis Bledel won for Choice TV Actress (Comedy) and Lauren Graham won for Choice Parental Unit. Hey, we wouldn't mind having Lorelai as a mom. Another CW winner was Allison Mack of Smallville, who won for Choice TV Sidekick.

We'd also like to offer congrats to Jensen and Sophia, who were nominated for Choice TV Breakout Star and Choice TV Actress, respectively (and should've won, in our humble opinion!). Check out a complete list of the winners!

Plus, see photo galleries of some of the stars at the Teen Choice Awards!

Did you catch the awards last night? What'd you think? Were you happy with the results?

Tragedy on 7th Heaven?

A few days ago, we asked if you thought 7th Heaven would still be the same without all its stars. Many of you thought the show would lose something if Mackenzie Rosman and David Gallagher didn't return.

Some recent spoilers on TVGuide.com (don't click if you don't want to know) have us pondering the fate of Ruthie and Simon (of the remaining Camden kids, only Beverly Mitchell has signed for Season 11). Haven't those Camden kids seen enough gloom and doom for one lifetime?

Lee Wants Mouth to Get Some Love

Lee Norris, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways:

*You're down-to-earth and seem like someone we'd be friends with in real life.
*You have a sense of humor about Mouth.
*In fact, you seem a lot like Mouth, only cooler!
*(Feel free to add your own reasons in the comments section!)

Watch Lee's video interview. He talks about his favorite episode and who he'd like Mouth to couple off with!
