Supernatural: Our Boys Are Back!
Dean and Sam return, and they stay true to character even in the face of comas and possible death. We were surprised that the producers let Sam spend the whole episode with a bruised and battered face - we guess it was to make him look tough. Dean, of course, has already proved his toughness, so he could get away with a photogenic scar on the forehead.
John ended up surprising us. We thought he'd let his lust for revenge make him ignore his sons, even when one of them is dying. We were all set to fling something at the TV until John revealed that he summoned the Demon to make a trade for Dean's life. That's probably as close to conventional parenting as John will ever get.
And yes, we admit to screaming at the TV when Bobby suggested they scrap the Metallicar. What do you mean, it's not worth a tow? The Metallicar is part of the team, and it will NOT be sold for scrap.
Check out the full recap here! Plus, see who's the winner of the Big Bad Bracket here! Are you surprised by the results?

This is just really insane to me. New DVD formats are coming out soon that will not read old dvd formats. yes, they are for blue ray. Well, my Einstein
boyfriend (psuedo boyfriend, he owed me a lot of money a big gift was to be expected) just bought a highish end player for me. Suppose we'll be giving it to the salvation army. If you got one and haven't opened the box-- DON'T.

The final story is not in, but in the mean-time, what is for sure is that he will go from running 1 of the 1st Web services company in the 2nd largest city in the Philippines, to becoming a debt-laden American citizen forced to live off $1000 a month to pay his American creditors whose collection letters will start hitting the mailbox any time.

Absolutely fantastic. These are two words that come sort of close to describing how great this episode was. Wonderful acting from all three leads, as usual, wonderful writing (I loved some of the one-liners: "I feel like I'm at a slumber party; "I full on Swazyed that mother!") and a wonderful episode that leaves me wanting more!!!

The season premiere was fantastic. Jensen was absolutely incredible. That last scene with John, with all of those subtle emotions playing across his face, was amazing.
Everyone did a great job. I loved the way it was filmed, with the camera panning around alternating between Dean's spirit being there and then not being there. Seamlessly done.
Needless to say, I was very happy with the premiere and I won't bother to say how many times I've watched it;)

Best, most intense season premier I've seen so far this year. No one can beat the chemistry between the Winchester men. All three J's knocked it out of the park, especially Jensen. Is it thursday yet?

I cannot tell you how much I loved this season opener. Supernatural owns me, it really does. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes...and I just have so many questions: What did John whisper in Dean's ear, is John really dead, will Dean steal the hospital scrubs and white t-shirt so that he can wear them to bed in various motels across the country?
Finally props to all the actors, especially Jensen who even more amazing than usual.
The big mytharc may revolve around Sammy and his burgeoning superpowers but for me, Dean really has become the heart of show. And that's largely due to Jensen's efforts to make this character so complex and fascinating.

So much love for this episode and this this show. Congrats Kripke, Supernatural just keeps getting better and better.
The acting, the writing and the directing were all beyond excellent. Everybody brought their A-game and for once the damsel was as good as the series regulars. Nice casting for Tessa. JDM was infuriating and heart-breaking by turns, and JP ripped my heart out when Sam was watching Dean flatline.
But JA, man this guy deserves an Emmy for the work he does on this show. He's beautiful and gifted. Thanks Supernatural for giving this rising star some great material for him to really sink his teath in.

The season opener was fantastic. Jensen rocked the house. He was amazing.
I'm interested to see where they go from here. Hopefully it's not going to be into too terribly cliched territory.

I forgot to post this in my last comment, but was the staircase in the hospital the same one they used in Bloody Mary? It looked like it to me.

OMG the episode was AMAZING. Jensen was absolutely fantastic, and Jared and JDM were great, too. I cried at least twice. This was probably the best hour of TV that I have *ever* watched. Can't wait for the next episode!

That was the best episode of the show YET! Mindblowing on every single level - acting, writing, plot, cinematography, etc etc ad nauseum. I could not love this show any more if I TRIED.
Also, I am completely unsurprised that family dynamics won the Big Bad Bracket :) Nothing stands up to those Winchesters!

Fan-freaking-tastic! I knew mostly what was going to happen because people kept spoiling me, but in the end I was still surprised. All the actors were great, and Jensen Ackles was *phenomenal*. Best episode yet! This season is going to kick some serious butt!
