Hidden Palms Premieres Next Month (Finally!)

Hidden Palms has a dark sideGood news, folks – we’ve finally got a premiere date for Hidden Palms, the twisty new drama from Kevin Williamson (you know, the guy behind Dawson’s Creek and the Scream flicks). The show will debut on May 30 – and give us something to look forward to over the summer hiatuses of all our other favorite shows.

The show centers on Johnny, a troubled teen (are there any non-troubled kids on TV these days?) who moves to a gated community in Palm Springs after his dad commits suicide. It looks idyllic – but there are dark doings going on under the surface. Did the kid who used to live in Johnny’s house kill himself, or was he murdered? Do his new friends know more than they’re saying? What’s the deal with the resident wild girl, and is that friendly Cliff guy maybe a little too friendly? What’s really going on?

We’re actually pretty excited about this show – we get an OC vibe, with the added bonus of mystery and duplicity and a seamy, seedy underbelly and all that good stuff. Nothing like a little enigmatic darkness to keep the summer from being too perky and boring.

Plus, the cast is full of familiar faces. Johnny, our transplanted hero, is portrayed by Taylor Handley, who played crazy rich boy Oliver in the OC. The actor who plays Cliff is another OC transplant – Michael Cassidy was Zach, the comics-loving, water-polo-playing rival with Seth for Summer’s affection. And we’ve got some Veronica Mars veterans, too – look for Tessa Thompson (Wallace’s girlfriend Jackie) as Nikki, and Kyle Secor (Jake Kane) as Skip Matthews.

Just so everyone knows...This show is different then anything... It is creepy, and weird, and keeps you on the edge.. I want to know more, and I have to know more....

I really love this show.. I thought that it was so interesting.. I really want it to come back......
I am waiting for it.. Just like ONE TREE HILL>.. Dont take away all the good shows.. If you do, all that will be left is reality shows..

Please SAVE HIDDEN PALMS>.

THESE PEOPLE RESPOND LIKE THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE FAT OR LONELY OR ARE FREAKS AND THEIR JEALOUS

I disagree strongly to ever one who say this is not a good show or that it's a knock off. That's retarted I can name you reasons.
1. because it doesn't follow the oc lines at all and those who say so need to go to rehab
2. The chariters are not despret house wive-ish at all. I mean come on ! people think out side the box!
3. The show has only been on once so you need to give it a chance. I bet that it'll be adicting for you and you will be jumping out of your seet for it!

My opinion is that the show will do extreamily well and even though people say the show is like the OC and Despret house wives. Think about how many people watch those shows and then why don't you combined that ... yeah I bet that's how many people will be watching it in the near future.

You can watch trailers for the Hidden Palms premiere on Hidden Palms Fansite:

when i saw this premier on tv, the first thing i thought of was The OC.. which im still trying to get over because it shouldnt of ended.. but since it has the oc's oliver and zach, im planning on watching it... therefore i still think the oc should be continued and aired.. this Hidden Palms just looks like a continuation of the oc...

I've seen the pilot and it is different than any other show I have seen. The actors are good and pretty, the look is original, and the mystery is interesting. I can't wait for the premiere!

I can't wait to see the rest of the show, I've already seen the Pilot. Very intriging and captivating. A great believable cast.

Hidden Palms seems like it will have a lot of dynamic, and a lot of potential. This show is a good piece of quality, not a lame 'knock-off.' Hidden Palms has such a surreal and unsettling feel; different than a lot of shows. The shows is very dark, twisted, and intelligent. The mystery is so good, it's not like up-in-your-face mystery which is bad. The mystery is very subtle, which lets you know that there is something hidden but making you wondering what it is.

I suggest everyone check this show out, hopefully for the entire eight episodes. Hey, there is nothing else on during the summer. Hidden Palms takes the teen drama to all new heights...

Now that this is finally coming out, I took a look at the pilot, and I've gotta say I enjoyed it. The characters were a bizzare assortment of neurotics, and they reveled just enough of the potentially deadly environment Johnny's entered into.

I'm not too worried about it following the same route as The O.C.. Last time I checked, The O.C. had no horror elements -- and that's what's got me excited for Hidden Palms.

Jenna, it's nice that you're willing to give HP a chance.

Unfortunately, I've outgrown teen dramas.

From the description I would say: The OC meets Desperate Housewives.

After watching the pilot I say: The OC meets Desperate Housewives.

Now, I've always believed that you shouldn't knock something until you've tried it... so I won't.

That said:

The Pilot was some of the most unoriginal TV I've seen in a long time (series wise). It didn't offer anything new. It followed the same pattern as The OC: Boy moves into gated community, boy crushes on girl neighbour, girl neighbour has issues, things are only perfect on the surface. Even the music was OC-ish... Let me just say, The OC did it way better.
The characters were Desperate Housewives-ish and the acting was cringe worthy a lot of the time. Also, all the actors are so well-known from other shows, that it was hard to immediately believe in the characters. That's a shame.

Nothing about the Pilot or the premise of the show intrigues me. BUT I won't knock it till I try it for real. Who knows, it might become really good if given the chance (but it needs to happen within the first three episodes or I'm gone).

Conclusion: I'm not jumping outta my chair for this one.

After reading this: HP appears to be a teen knockoff of Desperate Housewives.

I can't wait and I love the model Amber Heard who plays Greta on the show. She was in Alfa Dog with JT! I have seen the pilot and its good.
