Happy Birthday, Jared Padalecki!
One half of our favorite Hunting team turns 26 today - and yes, it's hard for us to believe that Jared Padalecki is so darn young. Happy birthday, Jared!
We've loved watching Jared show off his acting chops in Supernatural, marveling at the guy's talent as storylines got more complex and deep. Sam could have been a bit of a one-note character - his only goal was to find Jess' killer and then get back to his normal life. But Jared brought more layers to Sam then we originally could have imagined. We've seen Sam confront more horrors than we can count, including horrors within himself. He discovered he could never have the "normal" life he always craved, and he fought that fate, then embraced it. Along the way, he fought his father (while showing just how similar he and John could be), sparred with his brother (emotionally, physically and philosophically), and battled demons both literal and figurative. He even came back from the dead!
This season, we've seen Sam embrace his bad-ass side more than he had in the past. Season 3 Sam seemed to be willing to do anything - anything! - to save his brother, even if that meant embracing the dark side within himself. We couldn't imagine sweet, puppy-dog-eyed Season 1 Sam taking out Gordon with razor wire, or contemplating sacrificing an innocent virgin to destroy demons. It's a tribute to Jared's talent that we an watch him consider these horrible things without ever losing our love for the man at the core of the character.
This season, we also got a great look at Jared's fantastic comedic chops. Bad Day at Black Rock let Jared exhibit his physical comedy skills, and we still giggle at the memory of Sam's face as he told Dean he lost his shoe, or when he scowled at the unfairness of being forbidden from scratching his nose. Hee!
What's even more amazing is that Jared may be even more appealing as a person than Sam is as a character - high praise, considering how much we love those Winchester boys. Jared is always loose, funny, open and giving in public appearances, happy to embrace fans and riff on the show. We love that Jared seems to have no filter - seriously, talking about tiny underwear in Australia? - and that he takes such glee in his job, his fans and his life. We revel every chance we get to talk to him or see him in person, and can't wait for the next set visit or con so we can bask in the Padalecki glow. He's just that good.
We're sure Jared will have a great time on during his birthday weekend, whether he's kicking back with his dogs, hanging out with friends and family, or just goofing around. Jared seems to bring a good time with him wherever he goes, thanks to his sense of fun and infectious personality. Happy birthday, Jared, and thanks so much for bringing Sam to life!

This is completely late but hey -- why not? Happy Belated Birthday! I did post b-day wishes on imdb last week, but you can never get enough fan-love... It is definately one of my goals in life (right up there with keeping my GPA at a 3.8) to meet you one day. You just seem like good times :)

Happy Belated Birthday Jared. I have met you twice now at conventions and you just keep me laughing and laughing. I hope you never feel the need to put that 'filter' in place. This is a wonderful tribute to a brilliant actor who also happens to be one of the nicest human beings you could ever hope to meet! I've met Jared twice now and it is true, Jared lights up a room when he enters and has an amazing ability to make every single person in a crowded hall feel special (I have no idea how he does it but he does!).
So I would also like to say Happy Birthday to Jared and wish him all the very best that life has to offer, and thank you Jared, for entertaining us on-screen with your amazing acting and off-screen with just being yourself! You truly have a beautiful soul that reflects in everything that you do.

First of I just want to say that I really love your Jared tribute!!! :D Yeah we all know that he's that awesome, and I wish everyday that I could be one of the lucky people that have the chance to meet him in person!
