America’s Next Top Model: Why Are These People in Brazil While We're Stuck At Home?

The final six competitors in the running to become America's Next Top Model arrive in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They’re greeted by Fernanda Motta, the host of Brazil’s Next Top Model and it's straight into a challenge. The models must find the "Girl from Ipanema," but first the must find her favorite flower -- Birds of Paradise -- and get to the Botanical Gardens to present them to her. It’s so very "The Amazing Race." They’re running, scheming, plotting, we love it!

Fo and Natalie arrive at the Gardens and meet up with TGFI first. For the first time Fo realizes that this whole thing is a competition. And she’s on it. They give TGFI the flowers and she gives them the key to their new home. Of course, it’s awesome.

Natalie is unimpressed. She doesn’t see that Brazil has anything special to offer. She wants to get some rest and get a tan.

The next day the models meet Mestre Eddy Murphy (we're sure there's a joke here!) so he can show them Capoeira, a kind of dancing, kickboxing, thoroughly awesome activity. It’s pretty sexy, if done right. They practice some moves and then the Miss J and Jay meet them, along with photographer Paschoal Rodriguez. They do an impromptu Capoeira shoot. The winner of the challenge gets 50 percent more frames in the next shoot, but will take them from another girl who will get half the frames. Ouch -- that could really hurt.

Fighting, dancing and modeling -- it’s hard to pull them all together. We’re not gonna lie…most of the girls just looked spastic.

Fo is the only one who could really pull it off. She picks Teyona to lose out on her frames. Last week, Teyona shared her first challenge win with Aminat and Celia, leaving her buddy Fo out in the cold. Paybacks are a beee-yotch and apparently so is Fo. We didn’t see that one coming.

The next morning the gals meet Jay for their “real” shoot, and he has to explain who Carmen Miranda is to them. Sigh. They get suited up in their ruffles and fruit headgear. Natalie freaks out that they are shooting in a Brazilian ‘hood. This girl seriously doesn’t get out much. Aminat brings zero personality to the shoot. Teyona knows she has half the frames so she works all of them. Fo gives them too much Carmen Miranda -- too much posing and too much cheese. Jay isn’t impressed.

Heading into panel, Fo is a bit nervous but Natalie thinks that it’ll be hard to find a bad photo of her.

When it comes down to it…Aminat’s photo is boring. Natalie is sexy but looks tired and…yawn…she probably is. But she thought she looked good. Celia is weak -- Tyra says it’s the weakest shoot she’s done so far. Everyone loves Allison’s photo. And it’s good -- totally different from her typical deer in the headlights pics. Fo gives them too much posing. Teyona is sassy. She did well with her 50 percent fewer shots because she knew she had to.

So who gets the Brazilian boot? Natalie ends up getting sent home, but she can’t understand why. At least she can get some rest now. (And we can get a rest from her tired attitude!)

Last week the judges were harsh about London’s weight gain and this week they kind of went off on Celia while they were deliberating because (gasp!) they think she looks OLD! Sure, there’s a certain freshness that comes with modeling but as we’ve seen, Celia is about as playful as they come. And let’s face it -- she’s younger than Tyra. So what do you think? Is Celia too old to start a modeling career or are the judges being too critical of an otherwise very pretty and stylish girl?
