OH MY GOD "SUPERNATURAL FANS ARE TRYING TO START A WAR"
what war? this is a fudging poll my dear there is no war LOL.

SPN fans really need to stop taking this awards so seriously and stop accusing TVD fans of cheating.TVD is the most popular CW show right now and thats why it's winning a lot of caregories.
And to those saying that TVD is only popular because of Twilight that may have been true at first, even the actors have said that they're thankfull because Twilights popularity helped out. But I think the show has proven that it's different to Twlight and the story is original the actors are fantastic.
I was a fan og Twilight but ever since TVD cameout I found that I like it waymore than Twilight and I really hate that comparisson.

@ kate-- I am not trying to start a war and I do not think other SPN fans are. We are just surprised by the rise in Katherine's votes. She went from 38% to 53% in about 11 hours or so. Maybe this poll was posted on TVD fan sites, maybe it was posted elsewhere. No matter what, it was a very impressive increase.

And what SPN fan has called TVD fans rude? I do not think you are rude. You fans are just replying to SPN fan comments and trying to prove a point. People do this everyday. How is that rude?

I also do not believe SPN fans are trying to provoke TVD fans. We are simply stating our mind and opinion. It is not our fault if a TVD fan finds problems within that opinion.

If you were more into TVD, you'd know most of the fans DESPISE Twilight.

I'd really advise you to go and check your information in the first place until you say such thing, hunny.

Also, the whole Twilight has nothing to do with all the TVD's popularity, because there are the books which have come out WAYYY earlier than Twilights, therefore that's Twilight who's riding on TVD's coattails if you ask me.

You say "no offence", but the truth is, there will be a huge war in the end and you know it.

---------------------------

Yes, it is true that the TVD books were released in the early 90's. However, how many people have seen these books before the Twilight craze? In my school, since the Twilight explosion, I've seen girls reading this series. Before that, I never knew they existed and I frequently entered the Teen/Young Adult section at the bookstore and public library. Now, I see a multitude of these books on the shelves at Books-A-Million and my library.

I do not believe Twilight is riding on TVD's coattails. It seems like people hardly knew about TVD until the television series came out and the series came out after the huge explosion of Twilight movies and merchandise.

"L. J. Smith announced in 1998 a new spin-off trilogy entitled The Vampire Diaries: The Return, continuing the series, with Damon as the main protagonist. The first installment, The Return: Nightfall, was released on February 10, 2009."

This proves that TVD is riding on Twilight's coattails. The new book was obviously released in the midst of Twilight fever. I'm not saying the author did it on purpose, but I wouldn't be surprised if her publisher did.

Forgive me for my sort of shoddy explanation of everything. This explains what I'm saying better. Look at the third question and you will understand what I am saying about TVD cashing in on Twilight's success.

http://www.vampire-diaries.net/books/the-issue-of-twilight-and-the-vampire-diaries

I cannot possibly like TVD. As I said before in a previous comment on a previous poll, I have given it a chance and I do not like it (must be the teeny stuff; I much prefer The Vampire Chronicles.)

As for the Twilight fans being TVD fans, I've seen a multitude of them in real life and, if you check the comments of that site, there are many people who admit to being fans of both series.

I truly did not mean any offense, but I cannot please everyone I suppose.

lol It's so funny every time TVD wins over supernatural SPN's fans start talking about unfairness, cheating, defects and subjectiveness of the poll and such crap. actually they provoke TDV fans and then blame us for being rude. actually it's SPN fans who start the war all the time!!!

"VD is the best show on CW and on television right now"

Haha. It's riding on Twilight's coattails. That's why it's so popular. No one would even look twice if there wasn't Twilight fever.

Also, not trying to be offensive, but how many of VD fans are Twilight fans as well? I think it's a lot.

1. Can TVD fans stop beating the dead horse? Stop poking and prodding saying that Supernatural fans are sore losers etc etc? No one is really accusing of Vampire Diaries cheating anymore. It was only during the first poll and only because it seemed suspicious at first! Geez this topic is so OLD!

2. For Supernatural fans - though suspicious about these random surges for Vampire Diaries - I don't think they're cheating. It's just the fans love the show too much and gotta vote for it no matter what. That or TVD ppl who don't watch Supernatural haven't got a clue what happened with Chuck when he definitely should take this sourcie for the win.

This one's a subjective poll. I don't think it should've been labeled 'most shocking/surprising moment' it should've been called 'poll with the most fans on its ass at the moment' Because people like Tori who have watched all or most of the shows, would have to agree Chuck's surprise was teh greatest and most unexpected shit that ever happened. If you follow TVD closely, you'd be more shocked at a bitch cutting off some guy's fingers. If you follow Supernatural closely, you'd be more shocked at how a nerdy penthouse forum writer could possibly be the creator of everything. If you watch Smallville from the beginning seasons when Martha Kent was still around, you'd be most shocked about that. etc etc

Anyway, on to the next poll. Sorry to those who think otherwise, but if you actually took the time to watch Supernatural and understand it (along with the other shows) you'd understand that Chuck's disappearance thingy would be the biggest jaw dropper ever. It's undeniable as other ppl have said before. But so far as this poll goes, it's just which one has the most superfans.

@Laura

Who said VD was cheating? All I see are comments saying the rise was suspicious, and it was.

Katherine rising from 38% to 53% in a matter of hours?

Chuck going from 53% to 38%?

Not accusing anyone of cheating; it was just a huge rise in votes for Katherine in the span of 11 hours or so.

And even if SPN isn't popular in France, it's very popular everywhere else. Otherwise, there would be no SPN conventions.

It's funny because when SPN wins, the VD fans are not saying that the SPN fans are cheating!
All the comments from the SPN fans really did not make me want to watch SPN! Please stop saying crap!I'm from France, and even though VD is not on TV yet it's very popular (and it's not the case for SPN!)

"VD is the best show on CW and on television right now"

Haha. It's riding on Twilight's coattails. That's why it's so popular. No one would even look twice if there wasn't Twilight fever.

Very, very well said, Tori! Context is a key part of it, and that's one of the main reasons why, when it comes to just going by the scenes in the video here (or, if one is not familiar with the show) it can appear slanted.

As a fan of both SPN, TVD, SV, and GG (I have, I got to admit, never seen 90210 or OTH), can compare the moments for those four shows at least objectively. And when it comes to comparing the whole "Chuck-could-be-God" vs. "It's-not-Elena-it's-Katherine" battle, IMO, the surprise was a great deal larger where the Chuck revelation was concerned.

Katherine, at the very least, was expected to show up. The shock really came (as far as I was concerned) in the fact that it was now - at the end of season 01 - rather than waiting 'til season 02. (Of course, everyone involved in TVD kept saying over & over that the finale would leave jaws dropping/fans talking/etc. So it should have been expected that SOMETHING would be coming.)

That's my two cents, anyway.

No one saw Katherine coming back. It was a shocker. Especially when she was posing as Elena and kissed Damon. I was like WTF?!?!?! ELENA!!!!!! You love STEFAN not DAMON.

But honestly, I think what it comes down to is which show you watch: supernatural or vampire diaries. I've never seen nor will I ever watch supernatural. So hands down, TVD wins.

has to be katherine! i literally could not believe it when i saw it was her! it was an incredible season finale, and a fantastic ending! cannot wait for season 2!!! xoxo

I still don't understand the rivality between SPN and the VD. I'm a fan of both!

i voted for katherine. i was watching the season finale and I could swear it was elena kissing damon. i just found out it was Kat when she slammered poor uncle John's fingers to take out the ring xD so yeah my vote's for Katherine...

AND STOP THIS STUPID THING ABOUT SPN AND VD you bitter persons. Each series has its ups and downs. don't like? don't watch? DON'T COMMENT.

The only reason Vampire Diaries is winning (presuming the polls are cheating-proof) is because this poll only works with context. If you haven't watched Supernatural at all, you wouldn't give two shits about this random guy who just disappeared into thin air.

As for me, I've watched nearly all the shows on there. And all of the moments were shocking, but with proper context, everyone would have to agree that Supernatural's was the must unexpected. TVD kept hinting on and on about Katherine and I knew she'd turn up eventually. Despite what someone said - writers and executives said she wouldn't come in til season 2 - she'd come into the story eventually and that's why I was only a bit shocked to see her. But all in all, it was expected.

Supernatural however, no one saw that coming. And besides -cwsource, we actually don't know if Chuck is god or not at this point. It's still a mystery though we as fans can speculate all we want. So I don't know if you titled that choice for Supernatural correctly or not.
All those moments were shocking (cept maybe for GG and 90210 because those shows have so many "surprises" it hardly hits the top 10 kinda thing and its not that mind boggling after a few eps into the season).

TVD may only win because the fans probably went OH SHIT KATHERINE! when she popped up - I know I did. But with the proper context, no one can deny Chuck from Supernatural as the biggest surprise ever. It was as big as introducing Castiel as an angel back in the beginning of season 4. Kripke even had the role labeled as a demon so it wouldn't have the overzealous fans finding out about it before the show even started.

This poll is needs context, and the only way to know that context is to watch the show from season 4 when Chuck was first introduced because he was first brought in as a kinda wimpy, gutless, stuttering kinda person. Who would ever think a guy like that could possibly be god?
So the Vampire Diaries may win this poll b/c it really does require context. One short clip just won't help ppl understand why its the biggest surprise if they didn't follow the show at least starting from the point Chuck was introduced.

But as I've seen both shows - I know that Supernatural deserves to win this one. It's honestly really irrefutable. I watched TVD and Katherine showing up was a surprise, but it wasn't as big as Chuck from Supernatural. Ask anyone who watched Supernatural if they ever saw a stunt like that coming. Ask anyone who watched TVD, they knew Katherine would show up, but they just didn't know when

Wait, I'm confused--I don't follow the Vampire Diaries but based on the comments it seems like this Katherine didn't show up until the very end of the season. HOW is she in the running for best villain then if she hasn't been around?

And I was so surprised by Chuck, so I'm voting for him. (No surprise though, Supernatural's my favorite!)

Ok im sorry for those who think differently but COME ON!! Katherine is an evil physcopathec revenge seeking...vampire! Of course she's going to win!!

Common TVD haters don't be so nasty!!! I understand that you dislike the fact that VD is the best show on CW and on television right now, but get over it! i'm tired of that crap about TVD fans cheating. LEARN TO LOSE!!!!

Kara: I think it might just be that Supernatural fans and Vampire Diaries fans are voting at different times and it usually comes in bursts. We're probably even really it just depends on who gets the last burst of votes before it closes.

ok, i love the show supernatural, but i didn't keep up with it very much, i just watched it because of jared padalecki and jenson=they.are.hot. but i mean really?!?! these fans must be rabid! they are totally trying to knock the vampire diaries out of the running, but it is a simple known fact that any type of vampire fan will be the most vicious, passionate, loyal fans in the world. TVD FTW.

It's really hard to be objective in some of these categories because if you don't know the show, you aren't going to be affected as much.

I had to vote for Chuck, I mean, the uproar ALONE that single moment left in its wake...damn. And I know my jaw dropped when he first vanished. Call me lame, but I was pretty much spluttering for hours after the episode had ended and freaking out and wondering if that meant Chuck was supposed to be God and, if not, what ELSE could he be and why didn't the angels know something was up...

I'm STILL floored.

@Kara

I thought the same thing. I was very surprised to check the polls today (at around 3-4 pm CST) and see that Lucifer was down by around 2%, when just 12 hours earlier, he had been leading by nearly 1.5%.

Granted, that's not AS BIG as a jump as this one here, with Katherine vs. Chuck, but to jump nearly 3.5% in just 12 hours ... I don't know, I just found it a little surprising myself.

This poll here, the numbers shocked me as well, of course.

Chuck being god was the most surprising one, but I voted for Katherine..even though I kinda expected it was her, but hey it was awesome.

Hi, I'm from Brazil. I love love vampire diaries and much more
damon. There is more seductive man? I think not. Still
Although the second season is coming (: there are only 68
days.
waiting ^ ^

No way! Chuck?????????
OK,Ok that is the most surprise momento of TV!!!!!!!!!
SUPERNATURAL YES, OTHER SERIE NO!!!!!!!!!!
SUPERNATURAL IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
GO CHUCK; I'M WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@SCB - same clothes, same hair (she had it curled for Founders Day) and she'd said she was going home with her stuff, which Katherine had -- everything pointed to it being Elena, so I don't know what you're talking about. The only giveaway was the lack of vervain necklace, a that's only if you're REALLY looking.

@Superfanatic, it's about 2 vampire brothers who were turned by Katherine, who were infatuated/in love with her for 100+ years of their life...can you tell me someone else who has been preoccupied with a girl this long? The whole of the first season hasn;t had much K in, but the moments we've had have either been most surprising or villainous, and the last scene, all about her, encompasses all of this, it's what we've been working towards all year.

I agree that this is a very subjective poll...with this Chuck guy all I see is a man disappearing from a chair after writing the end, and maybe its a really big deal or whatever, but not in my perspective. I still haven't voted because as much as my favourite moment out of these was in TVD, I actually think my vote would go to OTH because I could have sworn on my life he was talking about Deb, I even thought Deb had just changed her hair colour when we saw the back of Rachel's head, then seeing DH's face, OMGLOLWTF?

Oh, and Kara - i'm guessing it was posted on a fansite right around then, unless you have some CW-cum-vampire conspiracy theory lined up.

@Kara

A vampire diaries fansite just posted info on the villain poll and this one last night, so that explains the surge in votes.

SPN fans need to stop being so annoying. Stop accusing things okay, it is stated up there that we're only allowed to vote once. Stop being curious about how Katherine's votes are way ahead of Chuck's. Apparently more people think Katherine deserves to win this category.

I'm just going to say that this seems suspicious. Last night Lucifer and Chuck were winning. Lucifer by a couple of votes, but Chuck by a massive amount of votes. Now, there's a sudden switch in this poll and Katherine is winning. Last night (or rather at 2 in the morning) Chuck had 53% and now Katherine has 53% when she had 38% this morning? What is up with that?

supernatural had the best shocking moment with chuck maybe being god.

Is this even a question?! KATHERINE, OF COURSE!

The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl had the BEST shockers this season in my opinion!!!!

Chuck's possibly-being God was BY FAR the most surprising of all of those. Perhaps because I don't watch TVD, but it just looked to me like she had a shapeshifter or look-a-like pretend to be the main character, which isn't really shocking to me. (Supernatural did it back in season 1).

This one is unfortunately really subjective because you can vote for best kiss without needing to watch all of the shows but unless you watch all/most of the shows, how can you judge which one shocked you more?

Since Katherine of TVD is practically in every poll it makes a person wonder if she's the only thing the show has to offer!?!?! Don't watch it but I thought it was a series about two vampire brothers?

I think it's rather creepy dating someone who is the spitting image of someone you used to date. Not shocking at all, but totally creepy.

Supernatural is totally going to wipe the floor with Vampire diaries! ;]

I was like 0.0 wtf? when I saw Chuck disappearing! Me: OMG that son .... is God?! Bring Sam back right now!

C'mon this is obviously Katherine!!!!!

Oh come on.....Chuck as God was sooooooooooo much more surprising than Katherine!!!! Maybe I'm not watching the same shows as everyone else b/c you could clearly tell that wasn't Elena on that porch. Different hair, different clothes, different attitude....seriously????

In this category, for me the most surprising among all the nominees is Chuck being God, i'm pretty sure it's him, it has to be him, how does he know so much thing about the Winchester and their past and what they're gonna do, and he knows what it's going to happen after the finale too, all the signs go in this direction, i'm still surprising by that final

Katherine's back is surprising but not the most, we know she'd come one day eventually

And Martha being the Red Queen is really surprising but it wasn't the most in Smallville, i'd choose instead the fall of Clark at the end, we don't know what it's going to happen or the disappearance of Ollie and the discovery of other soldiers

@Kara If you did not know, Elena looks like Katherine. Before that scene on the video, "Elena" and Damon were kissing after he told her how he felt. Unfortunately, it was Katherine who appeared as Elena and Damon thought she was Elena. So yeah, the kiss won the 'best kiss' and that scene literally made my heart skip a beat then it got crushed when we found out that was Katherine -_- lol.

It was pretty obvious that it was Katherine when she kissed Damon and most of us thought that Katherine would appear in this season anyway. I think it was more suprising that she suddenly chopped off John's finger. That was really unexpected.

Overall, the Chuck is god thing was a truly WTF moment. No one saw it coming. I had to rewind to make sure I didn't just imagine him disappearing into thin air.

First of all, Katherine was surprising because NUMEROUS times, the writers and directors of the show denied that she would make an appearance this season.

Second, Damon kissed Katherine thinking it was Elena which was such an awesome moment it won the sourcie best kiss ;)

@ Kara

Well, during the entire first season you didn't see Katherine at all, except in flashbacks. You kept hearing about how horrible she was or how she'd get other people to do her work. Everyone knew that at some point she'd show up, but the exec producers flat out said that she wasn't going to show up until season 2. Then she posed as Elena, her doppelganger, and kissed Damon and then proceeded to have a conversation with her uncle/newly-discovered-birth-father about him being her birth father/her birth mother. Then the clip can explain the rest. Basically the big surprise was that it wasn't Elena, but Katherine and the fact that the audience was told Katherine wouldn't make an appearance in the first season, so her appearance threw so many people off.

I know what you mean though, I feel the same way about the whole Chuck/God thing. SPN isn't really a show that's ever grasped my interest so in this clip all I saw was a man at a computer rambling about something and then disappear... looked kinda flat and... unsurprising, but I guess that's just because I've never seen the show : )

This one's gotta go to Chuck. After that end scene in the finale, I sat and stared for about five minutes and all I was thinking was: "wait...what...did that...what...WHAT?".

To answer someone:
The story around TVD is that Elena (a human) and Katherine (a vampire) look exactly the same, and Stefan and Damon both dated Katherine back in 1864. They thought she died...in present day, Stefan found Elena, was drawn to her because she looked like Katherine, but while Katherine was a bitch, Elena's a nice person :P Anyway, so everyone thought Katherine was dead/locked up in a tomb until recently they found out she wasn't, but they still never thought she'd be back to Mystic Falls. Right before this scene, Damon expressed his feelings to "Elena", kissed her, "Elena" walks in the house, talks to her Uncle John, then stabs him, and John realizes that its not Elena, its Katherine, who's BACK after 145 years and no one could tell because she looks exactly like Elena! TOTAL SHOCKER. I have to give it to TVD, especially since the writers misled us by saying in interviews that Katherine would not be back in the first season.

CMON!!! NO ONE Saw Chuck Being GOD!! I had to rewatch it like 27 times. It was like OMG!! NO WAY!! So SPN all the way

supernatural is the best show ever and i can't believe that Chuck is God that is a really nice twist love the show
vote vote vote supernatural

OH MY CHUCK!

I never ever see that one coming. It was so out of nowhere!!

The most surprising moment for me was when Damon and Stefan was shot in ep 20, took me a while to pick my jaw off the ground. Of course I am voting for Katherine, have voted for all TVD moments.

OF COURSE I'M GOING TO GO WITH CHUCK FROM SUPERNATURAL!!!!
i mean, who the hell thought the adorable Chuck the Prophet was GOD?! NO ONE DID!! it was absolutely unexpected and surprising all in one! hell, my jaw literally dropped to the floor when i saw him vanish into thin air, and after that, i was just staring at my tv because i couldn't believe what i saw!

Katherine wasn't unexpected or surprising at all! i really didn't react to her showing up when i watched it. i was like, "oh, who the hell didn't see that coming sooner or later?" please.

you can't compare. it's no competition that Chuck deserves to win! i adore him, by the way!!

@Iva- I'm not so certain their wins were deserving. SPN got some pretty crappy nominations for Hottest Moment and Best Kiss. I mean, hello! JO WAS FREAKING DYING!

This one I had to think about. While it being Katherine at the end of the VD finale surprised me, it was still, overall more predictable than Chuck turning out to be God on Supernatural.

I don't think *anyone* saw THAT one coming.

I'm pretty sure the possible identity of God, a "prophet" who's been around for multiple episodes, all of a sudden turning into God (which I love, by the way - I really hope it's him), is certainly more shocking than anything.

Sure, in OTH, when Dan was married to Rachel, I had a WTF?! moment, but that passed. I'm still in flail mode over Chuck/God.

I just love that the Supernatural fandom gets to discuss the identity of God and expansive mythology rather than petty relationship triangles or drama.

^^' Come on, Katherine was nominated for the best vilain of the serie, so how was that a surprise at the finale?

While Chuck..NO ONE E-V-E-R saw that one ocming, of him disappear. There NEVER was ANY theory about Chuck being something else than a small prophet afraid of his shadow

For those who were wondering, Katherine's scene was very SURPRISING because she didn't appear in the entire season until this scene (the finale). She was pretending to be Elena, even going as far as kissing Damon, who is totally in love with her. The show had us fooled the entire time! We all thought Elena was kissing Damon and I'm sure most of us were very happy...until she chopped off John's fingers.

Gotta go with Chuck as God. Who new our fave nerdy little writer could possibly be the creator of the universe?

Oh hell no! Chuck being God is probably the biggest of the two. ;) I am also a weekly watcher of Vampire Diaries, and she (Kat) did not in fact take me by surprise. As if goody two shoes would ever cheat on her beloved with the werewolf...wait--?

Q: Who saw Chuck being God coming?

A: No one!

Q: Who saw Katherine showing up?

A: It was expected.

Ergo ... SPN's was more "surprising" and "unexpected"

Ohhhh, Chuck!

I thought bringing back Martha as the Red Queen was stuuuupid. As well as Dan marrying Rachel.

Katherine is legitimately the biggest shock OmFG moment out of all of these I about died in that last scene. And up till now, all of TVDs wins AND losses have been deserving, let's add this one to the wins list. :)

How was it surprising that it was Katherine? I mean, I've hardly watched TVD because it didn't really strike my fancy so I don't really know how that is surprising.

Someone care to explain?

Wait! Chuck was God??????? I could never see it coming and I loved it!!!!

LOL Chuck in Supernatural FTW. No contest! Ever since his line of "I AM THE PROPHET, CHUCK!", I've pretty much been in love with him xDD

Of course Katherine !!!!!!!!!

OK COME ON....THIS ONE HAS TO BE KATHERINE!
