If a show is worth watching, it’s probably worth fighting about. We all have issues we’re passionate about on our favorite shows – but sometimes it feel like it’s dangerous to talk about them. If only there were a safe forum where we could share thoughts without mounting a scorched earth campaign.

That’s why we’re starting our new Fighting Words segment. Every Monday, we’ll post a new topic, and we’ll give you our perspective. Then, we want you to tell us what YOU think. Don’t hold back – give us your best argument on the topic of the week, and see if you can convince the rest of the readers!

There are some rules, of course. Our goal is to make this a friendly area to talk through the issues, not a place to mount TV-inspired holy wars. So we ask you do the following:
Keep it clean. No swearing, not personal attacks, no branding people who disagree with you poopy-butts or other such unpleasantness.

Stay on topic. If, for example, we’re debating whether Jason C. looks best in a suit or a t-shirt, it’s not the time to bring up arguments about his interview style or whether he loves Mia, Jackie or Sarah the most (we’ll get to that soon enough).

Try not to YELL, dismiss people out of hand, or use phrases like “A TRUE FAN should think this,” “Obviously that’s wrong,” or “You TOTALLY don’t know the show/have the inside scoop/read the mind of the show’s creator like I do.” This is about opinions, and there are no right or wrong answers, just more or less compelling arguments.

Beyond that, anything goes! Feel free to suggest topics you want to debate in the comments, or e-mail us with suggestions.

We're kicking things off with a Top Model debate. If you listen to the ANTM podcasts, you know Jackie and Mia get a little heated on the topic of Tyra. So here's this week's topic:

The CW will be casting in LA and Miami on Saturday, February 16. No experience is necessary, but the site says that style, intelligence, and a great work ethic are musts.

Tyra Banks started as an unknown (hard to believe, isn't it?), evolved into a supermodel, and is now a formidable businesswoman. Recently, Tyra was honored by Essence magazine at a fete -- she's their February cover girl. In this clip, Tyra talks about why Essence means so much to her, how each phase of her career has been represented on its covers, and why models are more like athletes than you think.

Let's hope you haven't had your fill of Tyra Banks just yet -- The CW has ordered eight episodes of a new Tyra-backed show about aspiring fashion assistants at a magazine. Tyra and producer Ken Mok are reteaming to create an as yet untitled reality series set in the behind-the-scenes world of fashion magazines. Zap2it describes it like this:

The series, described as "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "The Assistant," will allow ambitious assistants to taste what it's like to have heavier responsibilities at a fashion magazine. In each episode, the contestants will meet two challenges: an individual and team competition. Each group will submit a page for "The Book," a mockup of the proposed magazine. The losing team's page will be dumped, and one member will be eliminated.

Devil Wears Prada and The Assistant we can see -- plus a healthy dose of Ugly Betty. Sounds like this show will capitalize on the current fashionista underling craze. What we want to know is just how involved Ms. Banks will be. Will she oversee production only, appear on the show periodically, or actually get involved with challenges? Who will be the guest stars? Will the catfights be about questionable editorial decisions instead of questionable photo shoots? Will Anne Hathaway stop by to show the girls how to (gracefully) fetch coffee and hang senior editors' coats?

Our questions remain unanswered... for now. But we'll keep you posted on new developments as we hear of them. Until then -- would you watch this show? Does it sound like fun, or have you had enough of Tyra's empire?

Tyra B. wasn't quite complete when she arrived at Friday's 38th NAACP Image Awards. Girl, if a Top Model pulled the same stunt on your show, you'd kick her off, wouldn't you?!

So we just got around to reading the Tyra Banks interview in Vanity Fair, and we found a few tidbits especially enlightening. For those that haven't read it yet, Ty dishes on dating (it's tough for her), working too hard (she's a self-professed workaholic), and clean living (she claims to have never smoked a cigarette, had a drink, or done any drugs). Sounds like LiLo could learn a thing or two from Tyra's rather impressive habits... but we digress.

She also discusses her crazy Top Model persona and says that a lot of that character is just that -- a character. Apparently what we're seeing isn't the real Tyra. Phew... we were getting a little worried after last season's outbursts! Now we can relax -- well, until the season premiere. Who knows what Tyra's got up her sleeve for Cycle 8...

America's Next Top Model star Tyra Banks has been getting a lot of hit with an s in front of it for carrying around some extra baggage lately. The snarkilicous Dlisted.com weighs in on the issue and reports that she may have even lost some since the so-called "fat pictures" hit the 'net. Tyra says she still feels hot, but all the criticism does hurt her feelings.

Do you think she should have lost weight in response to all the criticism? Or do you think she is beautiful no matter what? We wish homegirl would lose the crazy instead. We'd like to see her tone that down for the next cycle!

Tyra Banks is on the cover of Jet Magazine! Funny, that pic looks way more feline than we remember Tyra! Is it Photoshop, or is Ty just trying a new look?

Regardless of what you think of her latest magazine cover, Tyra Banks has enough looks in her catalogue to please any would-be model. The woman's a virtual chameleon when it comes to style!

She's gone fresh-faced and pretty

uber-red updoed, and

sported lacquered orange curls, for a start.

Our personal favorite is when Tyra goes fierce -- that intense stare reminds us of Cycle 4 when Tyra totally freaked out. You do not mess with this woman, understand?

Mickael K of Dlisted.com weighs in on Tia (not Tamera, MK) Mowry and Tyra Banks' hairstyles at The CW Launch Party. He was no a fan of their hairdos - or hair-don'ts, in this instance. Well, MK, it ain't easy getting all dolled up for big events. You can control your outfits, but the hair? A little harder.

We did enjoy the Sister, Sister flashback though! Were you a fan of the sitcom back in the day? Of their adoptive mother, the ever-so-effervescent Jackée? Are you looking forward to seeing Tia in The Game?
